Shiatsu creates a moment to be still, to experience your body as it is and to witness its change.

Our shiatsu treatments stimulate and rebalance your flow of energy.

Shiatsu massage therapy is a form of bodywork from Japan. It is based on ancient eastern medicine, whose concept is that everything in this universe is essentially energy which needs to flow.

As part of this universe, you are also an energetic being. When you feel stuck, feel tension or pain, it is seen as energy not flowing properly.

Shiatsu uses sustained pressure, gentle stretches and joint mobilizations. In this way, it feels like a massage. However the goal of a shiatsu treatment is to stimulate your vital energy and remove blockages in your body. You''ll feel more relaxed, connected and balanced.

A shiatsu treatment takes place on a soft futon mat on the floor. You remained fully clothed throughout the treatment.

The treatment process

Each treatment starts with a chat about your needs and goals.

During an Intake & COnsultation, I'll ask a few questions about your general health and lifestyle. I'll touch your back or abdomen to guide me for the treatment. If needed, we will discuss a realistic treatment plan.

A shiatsu treatment takes place lying on a futon mat on the floor. You'll be fully clothed thorught the treatment. Wear light, stretchy clothing you are comfortable in. A t-shirt, leggings or loungewear are suitable. Please avoid wearing clothes that don’t stretch such as jeans or button-down shirts as this constricts your movement.

For your comfort, it’s best not to eat a heavy meal prior to your treatment.

During any follow-up treatments, we'll always take time to discuss the effectivity of the previous treatments and adjust your treatment as needed.
