This privacy statement applies to the processing of personal data collected and recorded on behalf of Sensing shiatsu.

Personal data processed by Sensing shiatsu

Sensing shiatsu processes your personal data because you are a client of Sensing shiatsu and/or because you provide this data to me yourself.

Below is an overview of the personal data Sensing Shiatsu processes:

  • Your name, address, phone number, email address
  • Your date of birth
  • Insured number / name of health insurer
  • The date and duration of the treatment.
  • A brief description of the treatment, e.g., 'Shiatsu treatment'
  • Client file (background and treatment information). Your file may include:
    • notes on your health condition and records of examinations and treatments performed.
    • included data necessary for your treatment that I, after your explicit consent, have requested from another healthcare provider such as e.g. your family doctor.
  • The cost of the consultation


For what purpose and on what basis Sensing shiatsu processes personal data

For proper treatment it is necessary that I, as your treating therapist, create a client file. This is also a legal obligation, imposed by the WGBO (Medical Treatment Agreement Act). The data in the client file will be kept for 20 years, as required by the WGBO.

  • Giving information to your physician or other health care providers. She does this only with your explicit consent.
  • For anonymized use during peer review (intervision/supervision).
  • Maintaining financial records so that I can prepare an invoice.
  • Communication with you as a client.
  • Executing the treatment agreement.

If I wish to use your data for any other reason, I will first inform you and explicitly ask for your consent.

Sensing shiatsu makes every effort to ensure your privacy. Sensing shiatsu adheres in all cases to the applicable laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG).

This means, among other things, I:

  • Carefully handle your personal and medical information
  • Ensure that unauthorized persons do not have access to your data.

As your treating therapist, I am the only one who has access to the information in your file. In addition, I have a legal duty of confidentiality (professional secrecy).

Provision to third parties

The data from your file may also be used for the following purposes, if necessary:

  • To inform other health care providers, for example when therapy is completed or when a referral is made to another practitioner. Of course, this is done only with your explicit consent.
  • For use for observation during my possible absence.


View, modify or delete data

You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. You also have the right to withdraw your possible consent for data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by Sensing Shiatsu. Bearing in mind that removal is not always possible in connection with legislation (think of the retention obligation of the tax authorities and WGBO). You have the right to data portability. This means that you can submit a request to me to send the personal data I have about you in a computer file to you or another organization named by you. You can send a request for inspection, correction, deletion, data transfer of your personal data or request to withdraw your consent or objection to the processing of your personal data to sensingshiatsu@gmail.com. I will respond to your request as soon as possible, but certainly within two weeks.
